1. The valence electron of aluminum is in 3p subshell which is farther than 3s electron from the nucleus. Therefore, it is easy to remove this electron. Due to this the first ionization energy of Al is less than Mg. In other words, the first ionization energy of Mg is greater than that of both Na and Al taken separately

2.This high electron density screens the nucleus. Because of this, effective nuclear charge gets decreased. Thus, the electron is having less attraction during addition. Hence, electron affinity of fluorine gets decreased.
