I learn slowly when ......

Answer:
The learning material is difficult or you are not interested in it
Explanation:
I joined a big research MNC (S&P Global) in 2011.
I was a bit nervous about the training process as I heard from someone that the company offers rigorous training & fires many people during the training itself.
As the training unfolded I realised that I was quite slow in picking up topics.
I was asking 5 to 10 times more questions than other people & still wasn't clear about various topics.
Trainers were getting irritated with my queries.
My performance in daily and weekly tests was not upto the mark.
First time in life I lost my confidence & started believing that I would be fired and would have to face a lot of humiliation.
Also as per human tendency I was shocked to see how fast some of my colleagues were learning and how crisp and clear their concepts were.
I did not want to give up so I started spending 2 to 3 hours extra at office to cover up previous topics.
My batchmates were returning in office cab but I started boarding metro late at night.
Finally with average scores I was cleared to get on production.
This happy news did not appear happy to me because leave aside blunders you can't even make small mistakes on production.
Also many important people including Trainer, Team Leader, Mentors, Assistant Manager & Senior Manager would keeping a track of my performance.
I requested trainers to put me on more training but they refused saying that I do not need further training.
Half heartedly I joined production.
Life turned 360° in just a few days.
I just don't know how but fromthe first day itself my stats were much better than other colleagues.
The expected error rate was 7 to 10 % and my error rate was 2.8%
Expected companies worked on per day were 54 and I was doing 60 to 65.
After a few months, even some of my seniors started clearing concepts from me.
This was just unbelievable!
End of story!
Some important things I learned from that incident-
Slow learning made me clear my concepts much better than others.
I did not become over confident.
What I learnt stayed in my mind and I did not have to brush concepts again and again.
Also concepts learned slowly were there in my mind for years even after leaving the company.
Moral-
“Never underestimate yourself because some of your natural traits may make you look weak initially but take your roots deep into the ground”
“Intelligent is a person who performs, no one will ask you how slow or fast you learned concepts”
