In △ABQ and △ACR,

  1. ∠ABQ = ∠ACR = 90° [see diagram; given that AB and AC are perpendicular to the sides PQ and PR respectively]
  2. AQ = AR (Given)
  3. AB = AC (Given)

∴ △ABQ ≅ △ACR by RHS congruence criterion.

∴ ∠AQB = ∠ARC [by c.p.c.t.]

Since an isosceles triangle has a pair of same angles, therefore △PQR becomes Isosceles.
