    (i) The traditional methods of irrigation include the following:

  • Check Basin Method.
  • Furrow Irrigation Method.
  • Strip Irrigation Method.
  • Basin Irrigation Method.

     

    (ii)  The modern methods of irrigation include sprinkler systems, drip         systems, etc. In the sprinkler system, water is sprinkled on the crop by using a pipe and nozzle system. It resembles raining. In the drip system, waterfalls drop by drop just at the position of the root.

     (iii)   Manures are obtained from natural sources, whereas fertilisers are synthetically manufactured in the factories. Manures are eco-friendly, whereas fertilisers harm the useful microbes present in the soil and also decrease the soil fertility if used for a longer time.
