In article 1 Minutes that matter by Kristina Waltz about Brittany a teenager saw a soldier have a problem with large phone bill communicating with family. She felt that it should not be that way and set out to fixthe problem and pay the bill. First, she tried to raise the money which did work but the money raised was far from enough. Next, she looked for other way to fix the long-term problem of the soldiers needing to communicate with family and friends possible. As she searched for ways to make this happen Brittany had to go outside her comfort zone. She spoke with Business owners to help, she tried to get phones, but the Government wouldn’t allow them to ship overseas. Finally, she found a way to recycle old phones for money, in turn get calling cards to help the soldiers communicate with family and friends.
