Draw a triangle ABC. Draw a line parallel to BC that passes through vertex A.

Since all angles of a straight line need to add up to 180 degrees,

anglePAB + angle BAC + angle CAQ=180 ----(1)

Since PQ is parallel to BC, anglePAB = angleABC and angleQAC = angleACB

Substituting our derivations in the first equation (1),

angleABC + angleBAC + angleACB = 180degrees

Hence, sum of angles of a triangle is 180degrees
