Force (F) applied on block X causes its acceleration.
Total mass in acceleration = m + 2m = 3m.
F = MA (Newtons second law)
In this case, acceleration (A) = F/3m.
Again, using newton's second law F = MA, calculate only force on x by Y
F (y) = 2m. a
F(y) =2m (f/3m)
F(y) = 2F/3.
