Kanzi, a young bonobo, i.e. a type of chimpanzee is a character who is quite smart for his kind. He has learned more than two hundred words and understands things. He lives in the language research center of the University in Georgia. Kanzi is looked after by a scientist named SusanSavage-Rumbaugh. Over the time the communication of kanzi is witnessed. He communicated by pointing to a symbol placed infront of him, where every symbol represents a word. Eventhough he cannot be like humans and talk like them but atleast he can form some meaningful sentences by such an action. He is therefore called intelligent because humans have not founded a definite meaning to what intelligence is. Experts suggest that intelligence requires someone to be attentive, have memory, logic and ability to judge which were all present in kanzi. An example can be given as to how chimpanzees in Western Africa make use of sharp skills to get their food, when they cannot break open nuts, they use hard stones to break the shell and how some fishes swim back to the same rivers.
