1) any elevated area that separates two drainage basins is known as water divide.
2) Himalayan rivers are the water courses that arise from Himalayan Ranges and are perennial in nature
i.e they flows throughout the year
While peninsular rivers arise from Western ghats and are not at all perenial.
3)Different types of drainage patterns are as follows :-
*Dendritic
*Deranged
*Centripetal
*Trellised
4)Ganga, Brahamaputra and Indus

1-It divides two water systems. Such upland is called a water divide. Solution any elevated area such as a mountain or an upland that separate two drainage basins is called water divide.

2-Himalayan rivers are perennial and flow the throughout the year. A large number of peninsular rivers are seasonal and flow during a certain period in a year. They receive water from rainfall and melting snow of the mountains and glaciers.

3-Drainage patterns are formed by the streams, rivers and lakes in a particular drainage basin. They are governed by the topography of the land whether a particular region is dominated by hard or soft rocks and gradient of land.

4-he three main river system of Himalayan river system are as under:

Ganga river system.

Indus river system.

Brahmaputra river system.
