I placed a genuine question and a kid suddenly popped out of nowhere and said "I don't know the right answer" as fast as lightning. even if I have the right to report them. I just feel it a waste of time. What to do pls help​

The same happened with me. I am in 6th grade and I posted a question on Algebra, that was very difficult for me to solve. I immediately recieved two answers : one that was correct or atleast related to the question (I mean it did not look like the correct answer but atleast they tried, right?) another one saying some random stuff like 'ajwnwhwiksjsm' just random letters. Not even words. But I didn't want to report them, because there were no bd words in it. You can just tell them in the comments to not type random things just for points if they don't know the answer. Because only 2 people can answer at a time, we posted the question to get the answer, not for points. But this happens everytime. It is your opinion really, what you want to do.
