Answer:

20% of remaining mangoes were given away.

Step-by-step explanation:

Percentage = The obtained value divided by the total value is multiply by 100 is called percentage.

Percentage = (Obtained value × 100)/total value

Total number of mangoes purchased = 40

According to the question, 20% mangoes got decayed

Decayed mangoes = 20% of 40

                                    = \frac{20}{100}\cdot40

                                    = 8

Number of undecayed mangoes = 40 - 8

                                                       = 32

Number of mangoes that were given away = 32 - mangoes left

                                                                        = 32 - 24

                                                                        = 8

Now,

Percentage of mangoes that were give away,

= (number of give away mangoes × 100)/remaining mangoes (undecayed)

= \frac{8}{32} \cdot 100

= 25%

Therefore, 20% of remaining mangoes were given away.
