Solution

Let the MP of a hair dryer be Rs.x. Then,

according to auestion,

x + 20 % of x = 1,600

=> x + 20/100 × x = 1,600

=> x + x/5 = 1,600

=> 5x+x/5 = 1,600

=> 6x/5 = 1,600

=> x = 1,600×5/6

=> x = Rs.1,333.33
