I read 4 upon 9 of a book one day and 3 upon 5 next day. if 100 pages are still left unread,how many pages did this book contains?

Let the book contains x no of pages
Therefore pages read on 1st day=4x/9
Remaining=x-4x/9=5x/9
Pages read on 2nd day=3/5×5x/9=x/3
Remaining pages=x-(5x/9+x/3)

x-5x/9+x/3=100
9x-5x+3x=900
x=900/7
