Given sentence :

I said to you , " I am Zara " .

ANSWER :

I told him that I was Zara .

Details :

The sentence is in past tense .

The reported speech is PAST .

It is "SAID" and hence the answer will be " I WAS ZARA "

Note that "SAID TO" will change to "TOLD"

This is another rule and do not make mistakes on that " Reported speech ".

The rules have to be followed and the reported speech has to impact throughout the sentence .

The reported speech is the verb when the people speaks the line within the quotes .

So here we identified the tone as past as the reported speech "said" was also in past.
