I sell a clock 12% in 440/- then what is cost price in clock

The answer is given below :

Let, cost price of a clock = Rs 100

Profit = 12%

Then, selling price = Rs (100 + 12) = Rs 112

The selling price of the given clock is Rs 440

Then, the cost price of the clock

 =  \frac{440 \times 100}{112}  \:  \: rupees

= Rs 2750/7

= Rs 392.85

Dear friend -

in the question given that

CP of clock =>100

and profit of selling clock => 12%

Then,

Selling price =>(100+12)rs =>112Rs

so, selling price of given clock =>440

Then,
cost price of clock is =>440×100/112

=>392.85
