I spent 3/5 of my savings and still have Rs 2000 left . what were my savings ?

Let the amount of savings = Rs x
She spent 3/5 of savings = 3x/5
Remaining amount = x - 3/5 * x
                             ⇒ (5x - 3x)/5
                             ⇒  2x/5.
Given leftover amount = Rs 2000
Therefore
2x/5 = 2000
x = 2000*5/2
x = Rs 5000

Your savings are =  Rs 5000.

3/5 of x +2000 = x
=>3/5x +2000 =x
=>3/5x-x = -2000
=>x(3/5 - 1) = -2000
=>x(1-3/5) =2000
=>2/5x =2000
=> x =2000×5/2
=> x = 5000
