i think of a number add one then double the result use algebraic notation, using the letter x for any unknown numbers

So according to you

Adding one to the number we get x+1

On doubling it we get

2x+2

If the representation of the unknown number is x then what will be the mathematical expression for it.

Solution:

The unknown number is x.

If we add one with it the result will be = x+1

Double of it then the result will be = 2(x+1) = 2x + 2

Hence if we think a number add one then double of the result in algebraic notation is given by = 2x+2
