I usually makes it run in 4 hour 30 minutes at an average speed of 60 km per hour. how long will it take, if the speed is reduced to 45 km per hour ?

now we have to find, how long will it take if speed is reduced to 45km/h

let x1 = 4.5h and y1 = 60km/h

and y2 = 45km/h

we have to find x2

it is in inverse proportion..

therefore x1y1 = x2y2

=> 4.5 × 60 = 45x2

=> 270 = 45x2

=> 270/45 = x2

=> x2 = 6

hence, it will take 6hours if the speed is reduced to 45km/h
