I wandered lonely as a cloud

That floats on high over vales and hills,

When all at once I saw a crowd,

A host, of golden daffodils;

Beside the lake, beneath the trees,

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continous as the stars that shine

And twinkle on the milky way,

They stretched in never-ending line

Along the margin of a bay :

Here, To convey an inherent unity between man and nature, William Wordsworth compares himself to a 'cloud', an object of nature, while he humanizes the daffodils by using the words 'a crowd' and 'a host' for them.

The poet compares the Daffodils to the stars to indicate the large number of daffodils and the beauty of them.
