'ELDERLY' - on hearing this word many of us may remember our old grandparents at once. So, what does elderly actually mean? Elderly is a reference to old people who've crossed middle age.It is a reference to the characteristics of old people as an adjective.
According to Shakespeare, old age is second childhood. Old people show dramatic change in their characteristics as well as physical appearance. The notable changes are:
1. They usually shrink in size
2.They want to get involved in many things
3.They usually desire a lot
4.As said before,their behavior changes
An elderly person needs a lot of support from his/her family. They won't be able to do their chores by themselves instead they need a lot of help.Nowadays, the elderly are being pushed to old age homes which should be prohibited. We,the young generation, should try to influence old people's life in a good way.
I'd like to end my speech quoting a few verses from Shakespeare's poem 'All the world's a stage':
The last scene of all
That ends this strange eventful history
Is second childishness and mere oblivion,
Sans teeth,sans eyes,sans taste,sans everything
THANK YOU

Today I'm going to tell you about the most familiar word " elderly " , and describe you their role, activities and many other things related to them...
So, what's the elderly ?
By hearing this word we think about elders , our Grandparents , senior citizen ...They are the persons who who have crossed the age about 50 and act now as the guide and supporter in the life of new generation people...
Their role in society :-
As in the family they are the head of that one family and support to their young children ..
As a citizen they work for social worker and being the guidelines and liabilities for the government...
Present status of them :-
But unfortunately, in the modern and fast world we are not giving importance and the time to our grandparents and their experience and think that are too old don't know about today's terms and world...
So, they are feeling lonely and forced to live in old age homes and wants to love of their family but it is not good, we have to learn more and more from their experiences and guide ourself ..
Thank you
