I want a blue carpet to be made for my room. The length of my room is 11m and its width is 7m.
(i) What should be the area of carpet that I need to purchase , from the carpet store, so that the carpet fits my room perfectly?
(ii) If carpet is sold at rate Rs. 80 per sq.m , how much will i have to pay?
(iii) My budget was Rs. 6000. Am i over or under budget and by how much?

Step-by-step explanation:

area = 11 x 7 = 77

so cost of carpet at 80 per meter is = 77 x 80 = Rs. 6,160 ...

therefore, 6160-6000= 160

ans: I'm over the budget by Rs. 160
