A bus was taken on hire from Delhi Transport Corporation to carry the students from the school (Nehru Place) to Mehrauli and bring them back to school. All the students of class IX reached the school on Sunday before 8:00 am. The bus also arrived on time. The class teacher asked the students to board the bus and take their seats. The first three front seats were reserved for the headmaster, our class teacher, Mr Banerjee and the class monitor, Mr. Raju. The bus left at 8:15 am. We reached ‘The Garden of Five Senses’, Mehrauli at 9:00 am. The journey was very comfortable.
The students were very happy as they would have a free day to enjoy themselves. They were all wearing fashionable dresses and looking smart and cheerful. Our class teacher and Raju go the entry tickets for all of us from the entry gate.
‘The Garden of Five Senses’ is situated in Said-ul-Ajaib village near Mehrauli. There is a majestic view of the Qutub Minar and the Chattarpur temple in the background. The bamboo rest shades delight the senses. There are almost 2000 varieties of plants in ‘Khaas Bagh’. Remarkable terracotta pots by famous artists, sculptures, fragrant trees and shrubs, etc, adorn the place. There are also solar powered buses, bicycles and cars at the ‘Solar Energy Park’.
The blue Lilies were in full bloom. The bushes and the wind chime tress creating music in the area was a beautiful sight to watch. All the students sat on the lush green ground in the open sunshine. Light refreshment was provided. All the students were served with sandwiches and apple juice. One the headmaster suggestion, some recreational activities were organized. Poem recitation, mono-acting, extempore speeches, jokes, songs, dances etc, were performed by the students. All the students actively participated in it.
Before the day of picnic, I didn't get the sleep all the night. Because, I was very excited for the day of picnic. I woke up very early morning on the day of picnic. I packed my all the bags and my mom packed a lot of food items for me and my friends. With my friends, I went my school. The school ground was full of travels and students. Many parents, teachers, students were gathering there. Everyone were very much excited for this.
Once the bus started and we go out of the city, we started group singing, games, story telling and lot of funny activities in bus. The travelling with teachers and friends was very much funny. We finally reached our place. That place was full of various monuments, beautiful gardens, Green parks and everything that students love.
We started our exploration from the monuments. The monuments were very unique. All this were made using stones and marble which was it's a greatest highlight. The "Guide" told us about the history and the construction behind this monuments. All the students were enjoying a lot with this. The monuments which we saw were pretty much excited and everyone will like to see this monuments. Most of the monuments were red and brown in color. This makes us very happy and increased our excitement level.
Later, we went to museum. The museum was very much big in size and it was very informative. Our teachers, took a guider for us and we started to see the museum. The museum was really awesome. It was very informative, very historical, artistic works and many other things. We saw the dresses, tables, costumes of the great kings of past. It was very great moment to see this kind of things there. The museum was really full of information and historical objects, books, utensils, materials and everything.
The students and teachers need a break. So, we took a break and everyone started eating their tiffins, snacks and enjoyed a lot. After the lunch and a good rest, our teachers told us to see the next place. Everyone asked for "What's that place ?". Teachers said us "It's surprise for you all". Our excitement increased a lot. Everyone were thinking about it.
Finally, teachers took us the place. And, that place was the "Book pressing". We everyone reads the books and use them for information. But, No one knows "How they are made ?". We were really excited to see this. They shown us that, How the books are typed, How they are designed and everything. The factory were the books were printed was really huge. We tour all the books factory. We learned a lot of new things there. We were really tired by this. And, we again need rest. Students requested for a rest in the shade of tree.
We all found a big tree with the great branches and great trunk. We used this for taking rest. Still, some students were playing and doing gossips. After a rest, it was a time to return back to school. Teachers checked all the students and we started to go back to the home.
This picnic attended by our school was full of Fun and Joy, Friendship, informational, educational. We learned a lot of new outer world things from this picnic. I would consider this picnic as one of the greatest picnic in my life. Because, there was lot of fun and joy in this picnic with my friends company.
