As the saying goes 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do.' In today's materialistic world when most of the people worship mammon, it is prudent to be shrewd and worldly wise. If one is not, one is likely to suffer. The current times are times of cut throat competition. All men are trying to achieve their sales goals and objectives; if one is not very alert, one is likely to fall prey to their selfishness. Salesmen selling sundry products, life-insurance agents, car manufacturers, every manufacturer is ready to lure their prospective customers with false promises and unreliable advertisements; if one is not on one's guard, he is in for trouble. So the word of advice to live safely in the current mercenary society is to be very careful. Before doing any investment, one must study all the details related to the investment very carefully. For instance credit card companies did so much wrong to the masses in India by luring them to use their cards and not explaining them the details about interest rates, and later on charged exorbitant interest rates and settlement amounts. All this could have been stopped if the people were cautious.
