Given:

  • sinθ = cosθ

To find:

  • Tanθ + Cotθ = ?

Identities used:

  1. sinθ / cosθ = tanθ
  2. cosθ / sinθ = cotθ

Method:

 \tan(\theta) + \cot(\theta) = \frac{ \sin(\theta) }{ \cos(\theta) } + \frac{ \cos(\theta) }{ \sin(\theta) } \\ \\ \sf since \sin(\theta) = \cos(\theta) \\ \\ = \frac{ \sin(\theta) }{ \sin( \theta) } + \frac{ \sin(\theta) }{ \sin(\theta) } \\ \implies1 + 1 \\ = 2

Therefore the answer is 2
