Answer: The number of boys and girls are in ratio 7:5. The number of boys is 8 more than the number of girls. Find the strength of the class?

ANSWER

Boys : Girls = 7 : 5

Let the no. of Boys be 7x and No. of girls be 5x

It is given that there are 8 more boys than girls

This means that

7x - 5x = 8

2x = 8

x = 4

___________________________

No. of Boys = 4 × 7

No. of Boys = 28

No. of Girls = 4 × 5

No. of Girls = 20

Total Students = 28 + 20

Total Students = 48
