The energy sources which are termed as the ‘Fossil fuels’ are petroleum and coal. These are the treasures that were accumulated by Mother Earth through millions of years. But man advanced rapidly in his exploration of earth and its resources. His scientific knowledge and inventions taught him how to exploit these caches of energy sources.

Once he discovered them he began to use then prodigally. He knew that these resources are not easily renewable and they will be exhausted one day. But each generation of human beings turned a blind eye to the fact and continued to use them irresponsibly, depleting the hoard at an incredibly fast rate.

He also knew about the havoc the burning fossil fuel was creating on the environment. But once again, his selfishness and love for luxurious life made him neglect it. As a result, the carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere increased to a dangerous level. The carbon dioxide and other similar gases accumulated and formed a cover over the earth, trapping the sun’s heat to create a phenomenon called ‘green house effect’. This increased the global temperature causing the extinction of many useful species of plankton, thus affecting the food chain. The sea level went up submerging the land.

At the same time these gases bore holes in the Ozone blanket that was protecting Earth and its inhabitants from the harmful ultra violet rays of sun. This causes many diseases like skin cancer.

In spite of knowing all these man still continued his tyranny over nature and its resources till recently. Presently, thanks to the efforts of many scientists we know the level of devastation that was brought about by man’s carelessness. Now that we know the facts, it is our duty to do something to negate the effects or at least prevent further disasters.

The fossil fuels are formed deep down the surface of earth through centuries of pressure and temperature exerted on the decayed bio matter. If we are not careful in extracting them they will naturally be over and it will take centuries to replenish the caches.

So let us think about the ways and means to exercise a bit of constraint on ourselves. The number of automobiles used is increasing by the hour. It goes without saying that these vehicles are very convenient for transportation. But is it absolutely necessary for every person to use individual vehicles.

When five people from the same place go the same way every day they can us one vehicle, thus reducing the use of petrol. Maintaining your vehicle’s condition well by timely overhauling will help in low consumption of fuel. If each individual takes care not to waste even a small quantity of these fuels, it will help a lot in the long run, as the adage goes, many a drop makes an ocean. Every little bit of the fuel saved goes a long way in slowing down its overall depletion.

The latest way and the most effective way is to develop means to exploit the renewable energy sources like, sunlight, wind and water. This endeavour must be assisted by the government also. The government will do well if a specific amount is set apart for the research in this field.

Using the fossil fuels responsibly has a two pronged advantage. It helps in lessening the exhaustion of the fossil fuel reserves and reducing the pollution of environment, thus making earth a better and healthy place to live in.

God gifted us many things. He made the world and our planet Earth. On Earth, we human are undoubtedly dependent on various things. We’re also dependent to Fuel. Aren’t we? Yes we’re dependent. Fuel is a thing when heated produce energy.

We need various things for making ourselves good such as Food. For cooking food, we need fuel. So, Fuel is very important and its role is indispensable. For example: Food works like a fuel in human body. It gives energy to human body and helps in maintaining the growth and life of human and animals as well.

Fossil Fuels such as coal, petroleum, natural gas are mainly used in industries for various purposes. Electricity, the thing which we need daily as a source of energy is also produced by Fossil fuels. Rapid and Uncontrolled urbanization also has the demand of more Energy which is being produced by fuels. We can’t do much without fuels.

Combustion of fuels has a bad impact on our Environment and led to the pollution. Our environment includes birds, trees, water, air etc. We’re also willingly dependent on our Environment. Environment is clean than only we’ve fresh mind and healthy. Combustion of fossil fuels led the formation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. It harms our Environment. The air is mixed with greenhouse gases and we breathe. It effects on our lives and health. It may cause respiratory diseases such as asthma and pulmonary disorder. It may also harm to our ecosystem.

The ozone layer safeguards our earth. It defend us from the ultraviolet rays coming from the sun. The combustion of fuels produces greenhouse gases which led to the depleting of ozone layer faster. This affects the earth. We’ll suffer from it.

We need a peaceful environment and a better place to live. For making our environment safe we should not use vehicles much which need more fuel. Wow! It saves our money. Let’s make people aware of walking and using more and more bicycle not any fuel consuming vehicle. We should switch off engines while waiting for traffic light.

Let’s use more and more LED bulbs and computer monitors. Let’s use CNG engines. Let’s use solar boats while travelling though water bodies. Let’s use clean renewable fuels. Let’s make our lives peaceful by saving fuel. Let’s make our future peaceful and brighter.
