Poems W. H. Auden "Night Mail"The night mail train carrying and bringing letters and articles of both rich and poor.
It is crossing the border overnight.
Though the way is long and rough ,the train is still on time.
She crosses moors and boulders, emitting white steam behind her.
She is passing with noise through the miles of distance.
Birds and sheepdogs cannot change her course.
She is passing one farm, and dwellers sleep on, but never stop.
In the dawn she reaches.
Glasgow and people run towards him for news.
There are letters of all kinds and for all persons,: receipts, invitations, applications, and many more.
People still in sleep and dream and may have been in nightmares.
They are asleep in everywhere but with a hope that when they awake they will have letters with good news.
