Meristematic tissues are also known as dividing, non permanent tissues these have no or less intercellular space...... They have small or no vacoules

Their are 3 types of meri stems

1. Apical meristem - it is present on the top of the plants, it is responsible for vertical growth of the plant

2. Intercalaray meristem - it is present at the nodes and the leaves...... Responsible for growth of secondary features (leaves, buds etc)

3.lateral meristem - it is present at the base of the plant and around the stem responsible for the girth or thickness of the stem
