"vibes" is the short form of "vibrations". When you talk
about "vibes", you are referring to the good or bad feelings that you
sometimes get when you meet a new person or when you walk into a strange place.
You can't always explain why you like a certain person the moment you meet
him/her; you just feel comfortable in the person's presence.
