                       Conflagration At My Neighbour’s House

I was about to sleep when I heard shouts of ‘fire, fire’. I rushed out and saw old Mr. Gupta's house on fire, spewing out thick smoke. I rushed out to see what help I could offer! To my shock, Mr. Gupta wailed to me, ‘My poor dog is chained inside, kindly save him for God’s sake’.

I was deeply attached to Mr. Gupta’s beautiful Pomeranian dog. Without thinking much I jumped into the flames and ran towards the kennel fending my faces with my arms. I found the dog barking in panic. His barking helped me locate him quickly. Immediately I unchained the dog, picked him up in my arms and from Mr. Gupta’s bedroom window jumped out in on to the rear garden.

By then someone had called up the fire-brigade also. They immediately set to putting out the fire. Mr. Gupta thanked me profusely for saving his beloved dog. I also felt so proud of myself for having done a daring feat.
