Explain why?

i) On burning fossil fuels such as coal, petroleum and natural gas, they produce carbon dioxide gas which is a greenhouse gas. The increase in levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere cause global warming.

ii)

a) Carbonisation - Carbonization is the term for the conversion of an organic substance into carbon or a carbon-containing residue through pyrolysis or destructive distillation. When biomaterial is exposed to sudden searing heat, it can be carbonized extremely quickly, turning it into solid carbon.

b) Petroleum refining - Petroleum refining processes are the chemical engineering processes and other facilities used in petroleum refineries to transform crude oil into useful products such as liquefied petroleum gas, gasoline or petrol, kerosene, jet fuel, diesel oil and fuel oils
