An essay on 'Intelligence is not sufficient for success'

Although there are very smart people, such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and others, who are brilliant and successful, success often eludes lots of people with high IQs. Why is this?
Psychologist Robert Sternberg has discussed the concept of "successful intelligence." Having a high IQ is not enough. Successful people need to recognize and capitalize on their strengths, but also have to correct or compensate for their weaknesses. For example, brilliant leaders have failed because of their inability to admit to a mistake and change a course of action, or because they are unable to trust others and ask for help or delegate tasks to others.

Hey mate!
Here's your answer!!
Intelligence is a pretty narrow blessing. It makes you faster at learning things, and able to understand more complex concepts. It does not guarantee a happy or successful life.
A highly intelligent person might solve their homework in half an hour. An actively intelligent person starts their homework early, takes longer, but gets it done in a weekend. Both students pass.
Let's take an example:
The luckier person might seem the more intelligent one, but there are dangers to coasting through most of your life. The actively intelligent person is developing a more valuable skill: how to recognise and consistently do the smart things, even when they might not want to.
It can help, of course. Smarter people are more likely to be better educated, and to work in better jobs where their opportunities are greater. But super high intelligence is not a prerequisite for success; it may even be an impairment.
Life is like a building that needs to be completed, and in order to fully finish this structure you will need many steps, just like in life to be successful. In order to build that structure you will also need cooperation, communication and leadership, because in order to build that building you will need to communicate and share what you think, and how to improve it. You will need leadership to build it because you will need to lead people in order to build it or else everybody would just use their own ideas and it would end with an argument about what to build. Finally you will need cooperation because everybody needs to work together, and if only one person did it it would take far too long. So think of life as a structure, like when you get older you get stronger, more mature, bigger and smarter, and a building gets bigger, taller more stable. Now students what have you learned today, you have learned that in life you will need communication, cooperation, and leadership and that will lead you to VICTORY and SUCCESS.
