= (2x + 4y) (p² + q²)

= 2x (p² + q²) + 4y (p² + q²)

= 2xp² + 2xq² + 4yp² + 4yq²

= 2 ( xp² + xq² + 2yp² + 2yq²)

OR

2x (p² + q²) + 4y (p² + q²)

= (2x + 4y) (p² + q²)

= 2 (x + 2y) ( p² + q² )
