"I wish you all success", said I beamingly to my friend who was in hurry to go on stage to take part in inter-school declamation contest. “Thanks dear, just wait here until I finish my speech and come back”, replied he.

 

With these words he jumped and took his position behind the stage. His name was announced for delivering the speech. He walked to the mike proudly and confidently and delivered a perfect speech flawlessly. As soon as he ended his speech, the auditorium reverberated with the thundering applause from the audience.

 

Smilingly he came to me and said, “Thanks buddy!”, continued he delightedly, “Your wishing always brings me luck! Look! You wished me success! And I have won the declamation trophy.”

 

I tried very hard to convince him he himself was responsible for his success; but he did not listen to me!
