I would like to donate parts of my body after my death.
Organ donation is a sacred and noble thought as well as action. Donating an organ after one's death is one way of giving the society and humanity an acknowledgement and showing our gratitude. We are not only doing a service to the humanity, but also showing a way to our younger generation.
After our death we no longer sense or feel anything. Our healthy vital organs like heart and eyes could help an ill fated person to live better. Many doctors also advise people to do an organ donation. So we must all make it a point to donate organs.
A decade ago perhaps there were not enough facilities in India to preserve vital organs and replace them. But now medical science is so advanced that miracles are happening. Some people are blind faith or religious oriented and old fashioned. There are superstitions and misconceptions regarding organ donations. The prevail among some people believing in rebirth, life after death and souls.
We should think objectively and nobly. There are many voluntary and other medical organizations now in India to handle organ donations. We should keep ourselves healthy and fit so that the organs are fit for transplantation. Liver, eyes, kidneys, pancreas, bones, bones marrow, skin etc. could all be donated. Let's think of light in the family that takes your organs.
We just need to fill in and sign an organ donation form and keep it with our family or our next kin. That is the least we can do to this wonderful world which helped us experience the beauty and pleasure of our life. Let some more persons experience the pleasure and beauty of their lives, with our organs.
