Ibm 1401 is an example of second generation computer.

Explanation:

The first generation computers were very huge. It was having vacuum tubes for digital logic and liquid mercury for memory storage purpose and it need a full room for its installation.

This was considered as major disadvantage of the first generation computers and certain modifications were made in it and this lead to the evolution of second generation computers which size was reduced and reliability was enhanced. Instead of tubes transistors and for liquid core, magnetic core was used. The well known examples of second generation’s computers are IBM 1401 and Honeywell.
