Ice melts at 0 celcius . The temperature remains constant at 0 celcius until all the ice has melted . Suggest why the temperature remains constant during melting even though heat is absorbed from the surroundings

the energy the ice absorbs from its surroundings gets used up in the process of melting. this heat is known as latent heat i.e. hidden heat, which gets used up in this process of melting to form water
