Radius of circle =13 cm

Length of the chord = 10cm

Construction :-

Join end points of chord to centre

Draw a perpendicular on the chord from the centre.

 \rule{200}{2}

Now,

Perpendicular from centre bisects the chord.

Thus AB = 5 cm

 \rule{200}{2}

IN TRIANGLE OAB :-

AO² = AB² + BO²

13² = 5² + BO²

bo = \sqrt{169 - 25} \\ \\ \\ bo = \sqrt{144} = 12

 \rule{200}{2}

Length of the perpendicular from centre on the chord is 12 centimeters.

 \rule{200}{2}
