Iceberg is made from pure water. Because of the dissolved sediments and minerals , sea water is slightly denser than pure water.

Ice berg floats on sea water because it has cage like structure in which some space is left out even after it freezes and is filled out by air and these spaces are in fact bigger than the normal inter molecular spaces. due to this spaces the volume of ice berg increases which make it to follow on ice.
