Poem- "I know why the caged bird sings"

What do you understand by the phrase 'bars of rage' in the second stanza? Discuss the imagery used here and the emotions it creates.​

'Bars of rage' means the caged bird is tied in the and cannot escape out, just like the Africans where they are slaved by the whites. Here the poets intention is to bring out the similarities between the caged bird and black's. The whites get another breez and another chance but the blacks are always deprived. The imagery here is Metaphor

The emotions here are depression, sadness.
