(C) A Mixture has properties similar to it's components.

  • This is because in a mixture, the constituent particles are not mixed chemically.
  • They are mixed physically and can be separated fairly easily by physical Methods.
  • Thus they show the properties of components.
  • Example can be alloys.

Why we didn't selected (A) and (B)? Are they Lucky?

No!

  • (A) Elements can not be further changed into simpler substances. As per chemistry, they are the basic things which make matter.

  • (B) A Compound is a pure substance. That means it has constituent particles having same chemical properties. Also, as per the Law of Constant Proportions (or simply, Law of Definite Proportions), a compound is made up of atoms of elements which are found in definite quantities. Thus, composition is uniform.
