Factors limiting the size of cells include:Surface area to volume ratio. (surface area / volume)

Nucleo-cytoplasmic ratio.

Fragility of cell membrane.

Mechanical structures necessary to hold the cell together (and the contents of the cell in place)

Hope this helps mate! please mark as brainliest and hit that thanks button!:) comment if any questions!;) GOOD LUCK!!!!!!:D

  • Volume - surface area ratio-cell dependent on surface area for diffusion if gets too big, must divide.
  • Nucleus- must have enough DNA to support size if not, must divide ex: paramecium have 2 nuclei to support cell size.
  • Contact inhibition- if too many (overcrowded) = stop mitosis.
  • Anchorage- must be anchored to reproduce.
  • Growth factors- kinase and cyclins influence mitosis
