  • we need to Identify types of reaction taking place of the following cases and also balanced the equation

 \huge\bf\underline \red{ \mathcal{A}nsweR...}

A) Zn reacts with silver nitrate to produce zinc nitrate and silver.

Reaction :-

  • Zn + AgNo3 ---> ZnNo3 + Ag

In this reaction Zinc (Zn) displaced Silver (Ag) from Silver nitrate solution (AgNo3) and forms Zinc nitrate (ZnNo3) and Silver (Ag).

▶This reaction is Displacement reaction.

▶️ Displacement Reaction :-

Displacement Reaction is a reaction in which a more reactive element displaced the less reactive element.

⚘In the above reaction Zn is more reactive than Ag that's why Zn displayed Ag from Silver nitrate (AgNo3) Solution.

(B) Potassium iodine reacts with lead Nitrate to produce potassium nitrate and lead iodide.

Reaction :-

Unbalanced equation :-

  • KI + Pb(No3)2 ---> KNo3 + PbI2

Balanced equation :-

  • 2KI + Pb(No3)2 ---> 2KNo3 + PbI2

In this reaction Potassium Nitrate and Lead iodide is formed by exchange of ions between reactants.

▶ This reaction is double displacement reaction.

▶️ Double Displacement Reaction :-

In this reaction there is an exchange of ions between the reactants are called double displacement reaction.
