Identity A, B and C in the following reactions :

The first reaction is Canizzaro reaction, since there are no alpha hydrogen atoms on either of the compounds and also that strong alkaline medium has been provided.

So,one reaction of benzaldehyde with acetaldehyde , benzyl alcohol and sodium acetate will be formed.

On reaction of sodium acetate with heat and NaBH4 , we obtain ethyl alcohol.

So, A - benzyl alcohol

B - Sodium Ethanoate

C - Ethyl alcohol or Ethanol
