Answer:

perimeter is same so

4(72)=2(80+b)

288=160+2b

64=b

area of rectangle =80+64

5120

area of squre =72*72=5184

area of squre is more is more than rectangle

by 5184-5120=64

Here, perimeter of the square field

= 4 * 72 m

= 288 m.

Now, the square field and the rectangular field, both have the same perimeter.

So, perimeter of rectangular field = 288.

Let, the breadth of the rectangular field be ' b' in metres.

So, by condition, we have,

2 ( 80 + b) = 288

=> 160 + 2b = 288

=> 2b = 288 - 160 = 128

=> b = 128/2 = 64.

So, breadth = 64m

Now, area of the square field

= side * side

= 72 * 72 sq.m

= 5184 sq.m

_ _ _ _ _ _

Area of the rectangular field

= length * breadth

= 80 * 64 sq.m

= 5120 sq.m

_ _ _ _ _ _

Hence, the square field has a greater area by (5184 - 5120) = 64 sq.m
