If 0.85g of NH3 is dissolved in 100ml of solution find the Molarity . If density of solution is 1.2g/ml

Mass of solution = 100 cm³ * 0.85 g /cm³ = 85.0 cm³

The solution contains 0.85 g NH3

and 85.0 g - 0.85 g NH3 = 84.15 g water

Mas of NH3 in 1000 g water = 1000 g / 84.15 g * 0.85 g NH3 = 10.1 g NH3

Molar mass NH3 = 17 g/mol

Mol NH3 in 10.1 g = 10.1g / 17 g/mol = 0.594 mol NH3 in 1.0 kg water

Molality = 0.594m
