1.2g of metal react with 1.12 liters at 

1.2/1.12 g of metal react with 1 liter of H 

(1.2 /1.12 ) x 22.4 of metal react with 22.4 liters at STP 

24 g of metal reacts with 22.4 liter of H at STP or 1 g of H 

so 1 mole of metal has 24 g 

given mass of metal = 1.2 g 

no of moles of metal = 1.2/24 = 0.05 moles 

Equivalent weight = Molecular weight/Equivalents
