If x is in numerator then here is your answer,

X/2+x/4+x/8=14

7x/8=14

x=16...

To solve this,take LCM

 \frac{1}{2}x  +  \frac{1}{4}x  +  \frac{1}{8}x  = 14 \\  \\  \frac{4x + 2x + x}{8}  = 14 \\  \\  \frac{7x}{8}  = 14 \\  \\ 7x = 14 \times 8 \\  \\ x =  \frac{14 \times 8}{7}  \\  \\  x = 2 \times 8 \\  \\ x = 16 \\  \\
Thus,value of x = 16.

Option D is correct.
