if 1 / 4 is a root of a quadratic equation x ^2 - kx + 1/ 6 . then find the value of k ?

x^2-kx+1/6
x=1/4
(1/4)^2 -k(1/4)+1/6
1/16-k/4+1/6=0
1/16 +1/6=k/4
3+8/48 =k/4
11/48=k/4
k=11/12 is answer

p(1/4)= (1/4)^2-k(1/4)+1/6
=1/16-k/4+1/6
k/4=1/16+1/6
k/4=3+8/48
k/4=11/48
k=11/12
