p(x) = a {x}^{2} - 3(a - 1) - 1 = 0 \\ p(1) = a( {1)}^{2} - 3(a - 1) - 1 = 0 \\ a(1) - 3a + 3 - 1 = 0 \\ a - 3a + 2 = 0 \\ - 2a + 2 = 0 \\ - 2a = - 2 \\ - \: and \: - cut \: \\ 2a = 2 \\ a = \frac{2}{2} \\ a = 1
